INDEPENDENCE – The Oakwood Cemetery Restoration Brigade has gathered auction donations from more than 40 local businesses in preparation for the Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction fundraiser taking place on January 18.
The volunteer team has been actively engaged in the repair and restoration of headstones at Oakwood Cemetery, which is owned by the city. This fundraiser aims to raise funds for the necessary cleaning and restoration materials.
The gathering is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, taking place at River’sEDGE, located at 206 2nd Avenue SW.
The menu will feature chili, a roll, dessert, and a choice of water or milk. Additionally, there will be a cash bar offering soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Donations for the meal will be gladly accepted.
