GEISMAR - The largest wine and spirit distributor in the country is working to open a major distribution center in Ascension Parish, according to The Advocate.
According to The Advocate, Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, headquartered in Miami, is establishing a 375,000 square foot warehouse on Industrial Drive in Geismar.
According to Forbes, the company ranks as the 10th largest private enterprise in the U.S., with a workforce of 24,000 and an impressive revenue of $26 billion. A company fact sheet reveals that it manages a portfolio of 8,600 brands and operates a fleet of 3,000 trucks, facilitating 7.1 million customer deliveries each year to more than 250,000 clients.
As reported by the Advocate, Wayne Chaplin, the CEO of Southern Glazer, was identified as the manager of Gonzales Property Partners LLC, which acquired the property in 2022 for nearly $6.5 million.
