Mental Health America of Boone County has shared resources to raise awareness for National Stalking Awareness Month. These materials aim to assist community members in recognizing, preventing, and addressing incidents related to stalking, whether for themselves or others.

The organization characterized stalking behaviors as including making unsolicited phone calls, employing technology for monitoring or tracking purposes, following or observing someone, sending unwanted presents, appearing uninvited, issuing threats of violence, or utilizing family and friends to find out someone’s location, either directly or indirectly.

“The organization stated, ‘Stalking is unacceptable and can rapidly lead to violent situations. If you believe you are experiencing stalking, it is important to notify your local law enforcement agency.’”

Mental Health America of Boone County may also be a resource to help with a protective order. For more information, contact the organization at 765-482-3020 or visit mhaboonecounty.org/need-help.
