BAR HARBOR – This past week marked a significant milestone for the planned renovation and expansion of Mount Desert Island Hospital.
On Tuesday, January 7, the Town Council made the decision to discontinue Stanwood Place, an essential component of the organization’s strategy, and handed over authority of the public roadway to the hospital. Subsequently, on Thursday, January 9, the hospital overcame another legislative challenge when the Design Review Board of the town approved the aspects of the project that they oversee, specifically ensuring that the aesthetic features of the redesign align with the character of the neighboring area.
