Sonic has launched a “Daily Cravings & Savings” lineup with deals as low as $1.49 as fast-food chains continue to push discounts to lure cash-strapped customers.
Sonic plans to provide discounts on certain menu items on designated days of the week for a month-long period. Following this, new daily specials will be introduced at the beginning of each month, according to the company's announcement.

Along with the new daily specials, Sonic updated its “fun.99” menu — which it launched in July. The new $1.99 menu includes the Grilled Cheese Burger, Queso Wraps, the Soft Pretzel Twist and Small Cream Slushes in Blue Coconut, Strawberry or Blood Orange flavors.
Sonic has announced two special one-day promotions for January. On January 15, patrons can indulge in corn dogs for just 99 cents. Then, on January 29, a set of four mozzarella sticks will be available for only $1.49.

The value menu and daily promotions are strategies to stay competitive against rivals such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King, all of whom introduced their own value meal options last year in response to customers tightening their budgets due to rising inflation.
McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal worked so well that it extended the limited-time offering multiple times.
The Golden Arches last week launched a new value menu with “buy one, get one” offerings and combo deals.
